This interior remodel posed an exciting opportunity to the design team. The Owner had purchased a building that had a very Mid-Century feel to it, and wanted to maintain the characteristics that gave it that vintage feel. From the flat roof to the horizontal, clearstory windows, to the vertical slit style windows, the architecture was very rectilinear and orthogonal. The designer played off those shapes to create an interesting floor pattern of different colored linoleum, a material reminiscent of mid-century years. The interior color palette of warm orange, yellow, grey and black, contrast drastically against classic, white walls. Large scale black and white photography of intricate car parts (the company’s core product offering) can be found popping out against colorful accent walls. Casegoods in two wood tones (cherry and espresso) and retro pieces such as Marcel Breuer Cane chairs and George Nelsen light fixtures furnish the 2,365 square foot office building.
